The birthplace of the Reitzel group, the Aigle site in the Vaud canton is where Hugo Reitzel founded his company in 1909. Specialising in condiment production, this factory manufactures vinegar-pickled vegetables, gherkins, salad dressings, chilled sauces and vinegar. A key player on the Swiss market, this production unit, which is continuously being modernised, has also developed products for export.

 

The Swiss factory manufactures a very broad range of products. It is a genuine 3-in-1 factory that produces pickled products, a wide variety of sauces and vinegar. This complexity requires tight control over supply chain flows and a healthy dose of flexibility and forward-thinking.

The assortment:

Pickled products: cucumbers, gherkins, baby onions, mixed pickles, capers and caperberries, sweet peppers and olives.

Sauces: salad dressings and vinaigrettes, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, chilled sauces and dips.

Vinegars: vinegar with herbs, apple and fruit vinegars, fine vinegars.

A word from the factory director:

Christophe Costa has been in the company since 1986 and has held the position of factory director for almost nine years.

How would you describe your job?

An SME like Reitzel has four different activities:

Salad dressings, mayonnaise and ketchup

Mustards

Vinegars

Gherkins and cucumbers, and a broad range of pickled products

Know-how is therefore our main asset.

Our factory owes its wealth and strength to the multitude of diverse nationalities and cultures that contribute to our growth, day after day.

We have always placed great emphasis on this team spirit. 

What are your priorities for 2015?

Here are our three main working orientations for 2015:

1) Pursue our initiative on the sustainable development.
Further to the considerable work achieved on infrastructures, we are now focusing on:

2) Follow market trends.
Nowadays, we can label every type of jars or bottles by using sleevers. We are also working on other very trendy packaging projects …for the end of 2015.

3) Continue to improve our profitability in production.
This involves the " 5 S " method we are setting up.
