Preparing for the future is a must.

The current crisis is not only a financial one, but is already an ecological one, due to the increasing scarcity of fossil fuels and non-renewable raw materials. Inflation is also partly due to the negative effects of climate change on agricultural production.

As processors of agricultural products, it is our duty to fight this trend.

As manufacturers, we are vulnerable to the depletion of fossil fuels. We must accelerate the greening effort of our model to reduce the future impact of the inevitable rises in the prices of raw materials. There is also an urgency to accelerate the transformation of our agricultural model.

The sustainable development team

ISO 26000

From 2005 to 2010, the ISO Working Group has done a great job in developing a 100-page document. It explains – in many instances in great detail – how social responsibility can be understood and what an organization should do. The most important clause 6 describes the core subjects identified by the Working Group:

  • Organizational governance
  • Human rights
  • Labour practices
  • The environment
  • Fair operating practices
  • Consumer issues, and
  • Community involvement and development.
