Reitzel is committed to local development in Kunigal (Karnataka, India) using its sustainable development fund, working in conjunction with the Citizens Alliance for Rural Development and Training Society (CARDTS).

The CARDTS Association

The Association funds and manages a programme for orphans whose parents have died from AIDS or whose parents are too weak or feeble to assume their role as parents as a result of this virus.

The orphanage currently cares for around 50 children in the region of Kunigal near our factory.

In 2011, we donated around € 11,000 to the charity, which enabled it build a new 60m2 room for use as a public communal area.

In 2012, we donated around €20,000 and will donate the same amount each year for the foreseeable future. This will be used for projects to improve housing, education, recreation, and life in general for these children.

The Anandita Association

The aims of the Association are :

- Establish humanitarian assistance on an international basis, particularly in India

- Contribute to improving access to education

- Respond to the material needs of schools, providing financial support to families for their children's education

- Provide clinics and hospitals with medical supplies so as to improve healthcare

- Intervene as swiftly as possible

The Reitzel Group has supported Anandita since it was established in 2009.

In its first year, our donations have helped equip 37 nurseries for the Jaipur orphanage.

In 2010, we helped renovate the school at Manoharpur which has 350 girl pupils.

This year, the Group's contribution (€ 5,000) was used to purchase half of the sports equipment for the school at Manoharpur (1,000 students) and to assist in the transformation of wasteland into a sports centre: creating an athletics track, a cricket pitch and some handball and basketball courts.
