Reitzel International Development (RID) is formed of Reitzel International, our commercial subsidiary, which is based on Reitzel India, our Indian production subsidiary. The RID office is located in Kunigal near Bangalore.

Reitzel India started its operations back in 2004 in the Kunigal Industrial area located 70km north west of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka, specialising in gherkin farming to create an efficient supply chain to our group’s subsidiaries.

Today at Reitzel India, we are the pickle specialist on the international market producing pickled cornichons, gherkins, and other specialities such as baby corns, jalapeños, piri piri chilis, banana peppers in various packaging (jars, cans, pouches) for retail, food service and QSR markets.

We work hand in hand with over 6’000 farmers to ensure the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices on the fields and traceability from the farms to our factory. The objective being to produce pickles of the highest quality, whilst respecting the environment and ensuring a better quality of life for farmers and their communities.

Since 2014, Reitzel India has become the first and unique Fairtrade certified pickle producer in the world!

Created by Hugo Reitzel in 1909 in Aigle, Reitzel Switzerland is the group’s parent company and a key driver in Reitzel’s development. Today, at our historical factory in Aigle, we produce all of our pickles, as well as a wide range of mustards, sauces and vinegars.

In 2019, Reitzel Switzerland achieved a turnover of 40.4 million euros, and currently has 110 employees.

53% of Reitzel Switzerland’s turnover is generated through its food services. The subsidiary has a main brand, Hugo Reitzel, named after the company’s founder, which is active in both the food service and retail trade sectors.

A new range named HUGO was launched in 2017 in the Swiss market, offering products made with locally grown ingrédients.

Reitzel France historically represents the fusion of 3 companies from within the pickle industry, acquired successively by the group: the canning factory Béziers in Castelsarrasin, the canning factory BRIAND in Bourré, and the company CHRIST in Connerré.

Today, Reitzel France has 113 employees and a turnover of 34 million euros.

In addition to custom work for private labels (57% of its turnover), Reitzel France also has several national brands:

  • “Le Jardin d’Orante” (condiments and dressings), distributed across supermarkets and superstores
  • “Hugo Reitzel”, designed for professionals in the food service industry.
  •  Its flagship product: the gherkin, the farming of which Reitzel has been striving to revive since 2016.

Production is currently spread across 2 factories: in Bourré and Connerré. The company’s headquarters are located in Paris. Our production workshop located in Montrichard Val de Cher is IFS, BRC & BIO certified. The one located in Connerré is IFS & BIO certified.
